Join Me in Giving Animals a Second Chance

Hi friends, family, and fellow animal lovers!

I joined the HSBV team in June 2026 as the Annual Giving Manager, and in just a few short months, I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing this work can be. During my first week, I was introduced to one of the best perks of the job: my very own office cat!

Meet Mr. Sadie 💛

This sweet senior had already been through a lot. He arrived at HSBV through no fault of his own, and because of his age and health concerns, he was brought upstairs to my office where he could have a quieter, more comfortable place to rest while our veterinary team cared for him.

Over the next several weeks, Mr. Sadie underwent multiple surgeries, including extensive repairs to his abdomen and diaphragm. But despite his long recovery, he greeted me each morning with little chirps and meows. I watched his fur grow back, saw him put on weight, and slowly his playful personality returned. He loved snuggles and curling up on his cozy checkered blanket, conveniently placed between my computer and keyboard.

After a total of 69 days in our care, Mr. Sadie was adopted into a loving home, where he is now thriving!

Mr. Sadie is just one of the animals who has shown me the incredible difference HSBV makes every day. From lifesaving veterinary care and behavior support, to helping families keep the pets they love, this work has quickly become close to my heart.
