I came to the U.S. as a 9-year-old refugee from Vietnam. My family and I didn’t know the language, the culture, or what our future held. I was that kid who needed a helping hand. The kid who needed someone to tell him it was okay to be proud of where he came from.

Years later, when my own tank ran dry, it was my wife and children who reminded me that love can rebuild even the most broken parts of us. And then I found Convivir Colorado — a place that reignited my purpose. A community that reminded me that my story, and the stories of those like me, matter deeply.

Today, I stand not just as that kid who once needed help, but as someone who’s helping the next generation rise.
