When people think of Colorado, they think of big mountains and blue skies. They don't think of the more than 48,000 active oil and gas wells that are polluting our climate and communities. 

In fact, most people don't know that Colorado is home to one of the worst residential fracking crises in the country until it comes to your doorstep. 

See all those red dots? That is all of the oil and gas wells in the state of Colorado. Many of them are just a few feet away from homes, schools, playgrounds. Putting our communities and climate at risk by exposing us to toxic chemicals in our water, explosions, and dangerous air pollution. 

Oil & gas fracking is the #1 source of climate pollution and the severe ground-level ozone pollution in Colorado. There are currently over 48,000 oil & gas wells active in CO, and now the industry is planning significant expansion into the population centers in the Front Range. 

Colorado Rising For Communities is powering a grassroots movement to protect our health, safety, quality of life, and the future of our climate from the harms and impacts of oil and gas operations. 

This is an organization that I care deeply about and have been involved with for many years. This Colorado Gives Day I am asking you to support their important work to:

• Build momentum and mobilize thousands for a statewide phase out of fracking
