2025 Fundraiser for AATPC

If I told you a cockroach can make a difference in the life of a client receiving services at Animal Assisted Therapy Programs would you believe me?

Marla, a Madagascar hissing cockroach, is part of the Starting Small program at Animal Assisted Therapy Program of Colorado who is doing that just that!  Marla and the rest of her invertebrate cohorts have been participating in sessions since June 2024 and for such tiny co-therapists they are making quite a BIG impact!!

Starting Small a humane education and psychotherapy program that introduces clients to invertebrates as a means of gaining specific insight to invertebrates, learn the importance of these little friends to our planet becoming impactful community members who are aware and care while also cultivating their own wellbeing.

During sessions, Marla and the rest of the invertebrate co-therapists work with clients of all ages to assist them in cultivating resiliency, positive self-confidence, explore stereotypes and yes…..provide comfort!  These tiny co-therapists also help clients cultivate an appreciation for nature, the beings we share it with and the importance each invertebrate has on our well being.

As a nonprofit, our existence hinges on the generosity of supporters like you who’s valuable contribution allows us to continue our work supporting our community.

Without your support, we simply cannot continue our work. Your contribution on Colorado Gives Day will be the catalyst for countless new chapters in 2025, each one filled with hope, healing, and transformation.
