You may not realize it, but Caregiver Connections has been serving family caregivers and older adults in Eagle County since 2011. Founded as a response to the need for services and programs for family caregivers of older adults requiring full-time in-home care, Caregiver Connections has grown from a grass-roots organization whose programs were formed and evolved directly from the voice and experience of those whom we serve. Still today, our committed corps of volunteers serving at our programs are members of the Caregiver Connections' community directly, as family caregivers themselves (spouses, adult children, loved ones) either presently or in the recent past. They know first-hand what is needed for the care recipients and play an important role in shaping the development of our services on an on-going basis.
Our mission is to help older adults age in place, by connecting family caregivers to respite and resources that will empower them to be the best caregivers they can be, making Eagle County a great place to LIVE and AGE. In Eagle County, older adults 65+ are the fastest growing population, with a significant increase in the number of family caregivers in our community. We serve as a central point of contact to foster and navigate healthy relationships between caregivers, care recipients, volunteers and community organizations (agency and provider partners). This has been especially critical in the last few years as access has been discontinued to more traditional routes for resources (i.e. skilled home health services) in Eagle County. Our position as an advocate and confidant with families helps them navigate the unique challenges of a complex and burdensome stage of life.
In celebration of our past 15 years and commitment to our shared future, we are launching a special anniversary campaign to support meaningful respite services, educational resources and programs to help older adults age in place with the supportive care of their loved ones.
Whether it's $15, $150, $1500 or any amount in between, your donation makes a profound impact on the growing needs of family caregivers and older adults here in Eagle County.
In the past year, Caregiver Connections has experienced exponential growth in the number of people who need our programs & services. More referrals are coming from the extensive network of community health providers; more people are seeking an earlier diagnosis of dementia, Parkinson's, cognitive impairment and other complex diseases; and many more people are looking to stay at home in Eagle County as a great place to live...and to age. Generous support of donors like YOU, along with dedicated volunteers and community partners, help Caregiver Connections meet these needs. THANK YOU!
With older adults 65+ as the fastest growing population in Eagle County, what could be more important than respite, resources & care for this community?
