It's a THROWDOWN!
Help the FACO staff raise
more $ than our board!

FACO staff have teamed up to challenge our board to a fundraising throwdown! (Psst: Your gift to the staff fundraiser still qualifies for a match through our board's generous $2,650 matching fund! Sneaky, right?)

At FACO, we're not hoping for better wildfire outcomes; We're making them possible!

For a decade, Fire Adapted Colorado (FACO) has united communities, professionals, and volunteers to prepare for wildfire—so no one has to face this daunting challenge alone.

Stronger together!

Fire Adapted Colorado is the only statewide nonprofit solely dedicated to supporting the wildfire resilience leaders who improve wildfire outcomes in Colorado landscapes and communities.

We strengthen Colorado’s ability to adapt to wildfire by:

  • Connecting Colorado’s wildfire resilience network: More
than 280 Wildfire Resilience Leaders and 108 organizations, and
growing—from fire councils to watershed groups—collaborate through FACO, sharing tools, knowledge, and resources.

  • Empowering local action: Our Opportunity Fund has awarded over $150,000 in small grants since 2018, seeding high-impact community projects that larger funding sources overlook.

  • Training community leaders: Through our Neighborhood Ambassador Program, hundreds of residents now lead mitigation efforts in their own neighborhoods—removing fuels, organizing evacuations, and protecting homes.

  • Unlocking federal and state dollars: FACO’s Community Navigators help small, under-resourced groups access complex grant programs. In 2024 alone, Navigator support helped communities and organizations secure millions in federal funding they would not have accessed otherwise.

  • Convening experts and practitioners: The Colorado Wildland Fire Conference gathers 300+ professionals and community leaders every 18 months, fueling collaboration and innovation.

  • Shaping policy: FACO ensures local experience informs state and national wildfire policy, amplifying Colorado’s leadership in wildfire resilience.

FACO fills the gaps that others miss:

  • Large-scale federal and state programs often bypass small towns, rural areas, and underserved populations. FACO ensures resources reach those communities.

  • A single grant or training through FACO can catalyze years of local action.

  • We facilitate cooperation and collaboration across complex management boundaries.

  • Every project we support contributes to a contiguous, fire-adapted Colorado, where resilience is built from the neighborhood to the forest.

^THIS^ is how FACO meets the challenge
of Colorado's increasing wildfire risk!

With your donation, FACO will increase impact, expand resources, and protect more Colorado homes and landscapes for the decade ahead.

Please pitch in what you can to help meet our $2,000 goal.
Remember, recurring (monthly) gifts provide year-round support for wildfire mitigation and can be changed at any time.

Thank you!
