Together for DFX: Empowering Every Ability

Developmental FX's mission is to prepare children with developmental differences for a bright future of engaged belonging by equipping them, their families, therapists, and teachers via innovative programming in Colorado and around the world. 

 

My first exposure to DFX really stems almost 20 years back.  I was in high school and had the opportunity to help support a basketball team for teenagers affected with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  I did not know it at the time, however several of these children were receiving therapy from DFX.  As a teenager myself, I don’t think I really understood the importance or the impact these services had on the kids I helped coach.

 

20 years later, I am so blessed to have stayed in touch with many of these children (now adults) and their families.  Many of them hold jobs, have meaningful relationships with their families and friends and are actively engaged in their communities.  It is after all this time I have begun to really appreciate the significance of what is taught through DFX.  I am honored to witness the lives changed every day through the incredible work done there.
