I lost my best friend to suicide in 2020, shortly before moving to Colorado for college. My first semester at CSU, I happened to walk through the center of campus and stumbled upon ASP's table at the club fair, where I learned about the Heartbeat support groups we run. At the time, I didn't realize how much my grief still impacted my life, but as I started attending the Heartbeat meetings, I realized that I was healing in ways that I didn't know were even a possibility for me. I have repeatedly said that I would not be where I am in my grief journey had I never found ASP and Heartbeat. I remember the warm feeling that I left every group with as a participant, and as the current Heartbeat facilitator, I try my best to create an environment where every participant leaves the group with that same feeling. I thank my lucky stars every day that I get to be apart of such an amazing organization that does such great work, and I feel so blessed that I have the privilege of being within such a strong, uplifting community of fellow suicide loss survivors. Both my colleagues at ASP and the survivors who attend Heartbeat continuously teach me so much about life, healing, and myself, and I am truly grateful.

The Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County is dedicated to saving lives and bringing hope to those impacted by suicide.

Colorado continues to rank among the top ten states for suicide deaths. In our community, a suicide occurs every 5–6 days — each one someone’s child, parent, partner, or friend. Behind every number is a story and a community that must respond.

For over 30 years, the Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County has been on the front lines — offering free education, outreach, and support to thousands each year. Your donations allow us to continue providing prevention education, mental health trainings, and grief support for those affected by suicide.

But the need is growing faster than the funding. Calls for help are rising, youth anxiety is at record highs, and community partners are stretched thin. To keep these lifesaving programs active and reach those who need us most, we need your support now more than ever.

Your generosity makes prevention possible. Your gift saves lives. 💜
