June is National Great Outdoors Month, and Cottonwood Institute is participating in the Give Where it Grows campaign, which encourages support for outdoor learning this month.

Why Your Support Matters

Each summer, Cottonwood Institute takes middle school students from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Early College (DMLK) on trips where students spend quality time outdoors participating in activities such as archery, rock climbing, and camping. Students show up with enthusiasm, kindness, and thoughtfulness as they brave all manner of new activities.

Cottonwood Institute breaks down barriers for equitable access to nature by providing programs that are free for students and families, including all transportation, gear, food, and professional instruction.

We help support positive youth mental health by getting students off their screen and into the outdoors to connect with nature, each other, and with positive adult role models.

We inspire students to become leaders, problem-solvers, and changemakers in their communities.

Your contributions to this program will provide many more DMLK students with these memorable and life-changing experiences.
