CenterStage and Tapestry Theatre Company are proud to present our fourth annual "Heart for the Arts” fundraiser. The goal of our fundraising event is to raise critical funds needed to support the mission of our organization, which is to inspire and nurture a passion for the performing arts. We educate and train students of all ages and all abilities from all over the metro area. Our goal is to continue to bring the highest level of training to our students.
This year our focus is on improving and upgrading our most important space – our beloved Black Box Theatre!! We are SO EXCITED!! Updates include a NEW Stage Door and some new fire safety equipment.
Our fundraising event will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the Grace Gamm Theatre at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder, Colorado. Our evening begins with a simple reception in the lobby at 6pm followed by our event at 7pm. Included in our program will be performances by our students as well as recognition of some of our longstanding staff and volunteers. Stay tuned for ticketing information and links.
For those unable to attend this event, we would be most grateful if you can donate here.
For more than 25 years, CenterStage Theatre Company has given our region’s young performers a place to grow, on stage and off. In 2018, we moved into our own 70-seat Black Box Theatre in downtown Louisville, an intimate home where students take their first bow, find their voice, and discover what they can do. It is also home to our Tapestry program, which highlights the unique talents of performers of all abilities.
After a recent inspection, updated fire-safety codes call for a series of improvements to the Black Box. It would be easy to treat this as just a list of fixes to get through. Instead, we see a chance to invest in the space our performers love and make it better than it has ever been. The cost of this important upgrade is $53,364. It is a big lift, and we are turning to the community that has believed in us for more than 25 years to help us get there.
One hundred percent of gifts to this campaign go straight into the Black Box. Here is what the work involves:
- Stage door and exit upgrades: $16,206
- Architectural plans, permits, and inspections: $10,640
- Electrical and outlet upgrades: $10,488
- Fire alarm system: $7,614
- Fire sprinkler upgrades: $4,776
- Ventilation and cooling: $2,640
- Stage curtain: $1,000
- Total project cost: $53,364
Our goal is simple: complete the work as soon as practical so we can open our fall season right here in the Black Box. Every gift gets us closer, and if we raise more than our goal, every additional dollar strengthens our reserve so the next investment in our programs starts from a position of strength.
