Protecting the Vote in 2026

During the 2024 election, Colorado Common Cause trained and mobilized 350 nonpartisan poll monitors, who blanketed 62 cities, 200+ polling locations and 8 college campuses. 

These volunteers helped support voters with their questions, responded to on-the-ground problems like voter intimidation, and kept people in line with encouragement and hot beverages when wait times climbed to 3+ hours at certain sites.

Meanwhile, volunteer attorneys trained by Colorado Common Cause answered over 600 questions about voting via our election protection call center. 

In 2026, we are launching a Democracy Defense Coalition to bring together hundreds of Coloradans from all corners of the state, and all walks of life, to form a diverse movement of volunteers, organizations and community leaders for our 2026 election protection program. 

Our plan is to expand and deepen our programming to confront the even greater threats facing our communities, to include faith leaders, immigration defense organizers, and more.
