Help Us Secure/Build a Permanent Classroom Space in Montrose
For 15 years, Montrose has been at the heart of Weehawken Creative Arts. It’s now where the majority of our programming happens—where over 400 dance and aerial students perform, where community members of all ages come to learn, grow, and create.
But despite our deep roots, Weehawken has never had a permanent home in Montrose. We’ve leased four different classroom spaces since we arrived, and due to upcoming changes in the facilities we currently use, we must secure a new long-term space by fall 2026 to house at least 50% of our programming.
And now—after years of searching—we finally have promising opportunities on the horizon.
Your support today can help turn those opportunities into a reality.
Why This Space Matters
A permanent Montrose classroom facility will allow us to:
Provide stable, uninterrupted arts education for youth and adults
Expand high-demand programs in dance, aerial, and visual arts
Create a safe, purpose-built home designed for arts instruction
Reduce long-term rental costs and invest sustainably in our future
What We Need
This fund will help us:
Secure a long-term lease or purchase agreement
Complete the initial build-out to make the space safe and functional
Purchase essential flooring, mirrors, equipment, storage, and safety improvements for a new space
Activate the space quickly so students can be learning inside it by fall 2026
Be Part of the Next Big Chapter
For nearly two decades, Montrose families have trusted Weehawken to provide high-quality arts education. With your help, we can ensure those opportunities continue—and that they grow—for generations to come.
If you would like to talk directly about this project, tour potential spaces, or explore naming opportunities, please reach out. We would be honored to share our vision with you. Email Ashley: ashley@weehawkenarts.org to connect on this need.
Together, we can start to build a permanent Weehawken Montrose home for creativity, movement, and community.
