Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a rare and devastating liver disease that slowly damages the bile ducts and liver, often leading to cirrhosis, bile duct cancer, and the need for transplantation. There is still no approved therapy.

PSC is a cause that is close to my family, and it is the disease I have committed my career to studying as a physician-scientist. 2025 brought the first-ever positive phase 3 clinical trial in PSC, along with several promising earlier-stage studies. We are entering a hopeful and consequential moment for the PSC community. Strong patient advocacy and research funding are more important than ever.

This month, my wife Tyler and I hiked 35 miles on the Carros de Foc trail in the Spanish Pyrenees, a challenging and rewarding journey across snow-covered slopes and steep rocky scrambles, to raise money for PSC Partners Seeking a Cure.

Please consider supporting my Move for PSC fundraiser. Your donation will help fund research, strengthen patient advocacy, and bring us closer to effective treatments for PSC.
