Warren Village, a nonprofit in Denver, exists to help low-income, single-parent families achieve sustainable personal and economic self-sufficiency. By providing safe, affordable housing along with mental and physical health care, early childhood education, and one-on-one mentoring, Warren Village helps families find stability and build brighter futures.
My story with Warren Village began when I was a case manager working with youth in the juvenile justice system. One of my clients was referred to Warren Village at First Step. This was my first time hearing about the organization. I remember reading through the flyer with my client and being struck immediately by the mission and the holistic approach to family stability.
Over the next several years, I learned more about Warren Village’s 2-Gen model, which supports not just parents through housing, but entire families through wraparound services like child care, mental health care, education, and mentoring. These resources are critical to building lasting change and economic mobility.
Years later, I had the opportunity to work with the Warren Village development team. During my time on staff, I saw the impact up close: countless residents and alumni whose stories I heard. They accomplished their goals and built better futures for themselves and their families. I also met the teachers, clinicians, and family support staff who cared deeply about helping children and parents thrive.
When my time on staff came to a close, I knew I wanted to keep supporting the mission, so I became a Summit Member, Warren Village’s monthly giving program. Supporting children and parents is critical to a community’s wellbeing. For me, it’s about showing up for families, and for the teachers, therapists, and mentors who stand by them every day.
I believe every family deserves a chance to thrive. A donation to Warren Village isn’t just a gift, it’s an investment in hardworking parents and children working toward lasting change. Please consider joining me in supporting families in our community!
