Friends and family, it's my birthday!!!

As you know I wear my sneakers till the tread is gone, so, I don't need things. What I need is your SUPPORT and SOLIDARITY in funding system-changing, community driven, social justice organizations here in Colorado.

This year has been a huge setback for this country as a whole, but, especially marginalized individuals. The effects that the current administration has had on my own latino and queer communities has been disturbing and inhumane.

At the beginning of this year (2025), I was finishing up the grant-making portion of the Giving Project program. With many of y'all's help, I raised $11,236, and as a collective with my fellow volunteers we raised $156,949. Money that we all didn't realized would be so so vital, to grassroots social justice organizations in the months to come due to funding cuts and strained social safety nets.

I continue to volunteer for Chinook Fund because I believe so strongly in the organizations doing the WORK fighting for JUSTICE and EQUITY. For me, fundraising is just one way that I can help our change-making leaders make a difference. I am honored that you are here and ask that you support with a donation that feels meaningful to you at this time.

Some grantees that inspire me:

Shut Down GEO Aurora

The Shut Down GEO Aurora campaign fights for policies that decriminalize migration, we aim to dismantle oppressive institutions and replace them with systems that uphold dignity, joy, and collective power. Our vision is a future where immigrant communities are not only free from detention but thrive in a society built on justice, equity, and liberation.

Ignacio Out and Equal Alliance

Ignacio Out and Equal Alliance works to support, empower, educate and advocate for the Two-Spirit and LGBTQ+ community members, their families and allies in the Southwest, including the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Reservations. We aim to create a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment where BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and 2SLGBTQ+ people can thrive.

Lamar Unidos - started in 2015 as a response to the critical need to have a space for Lamar’s Latino immigrant families to address collective challenges, have a reliable source of information and accessible services. Lamar Unidos has worked with the community to tackle issues that are most pressing such as education, economic justice, immigration, financial and tax help, physical health and civic engagement.

Western Slope Native American Resource Center (WSNARC) - founded to empower Native Americans/Alaskan Natives to exercise their cultural values with integrity, in partnership with the communities we live in, through cultural identity, while advocating for racial justice and health equity.
