Help Every Autistic Dancer Spread Their Wings in Our New Studio!

Hi, I'm Becca, and I'm a proud volunteer and Dance Teacher at the Autistic Wings Dance Company.

I need your help to secure the future of this amazing studio and every single neurodivergent dancer in our community.

The Challenge: When the Dance World Only Saw an Outcast

When I first started dancing, I hoped I would find a place for me to express myself. Instead, the experience was often frustrating, overwhelming and exhausting. The atmosphere wasn't welcoming, became cliquey and led to deciding against pursuing dance. Encouraged in college to dance again, I began to come out of my shell ultimately resulting in a passion and drive to help others love dance.

The Solution: A Place to Call Home

Everything changed when I found Autistic Wings. This studio was founded by a fellow autistic dancer, 14 years old Leta, who built a space where neurodivergent dancers don't need to be "fixed" to perform—they just need a safe, tailored space to thrive. At Autistic Wings, class sizes are small, the environment is sensory-friendly, and a place where uniqueness is welcomed and celebrated. The one-on-one interaction with these dancers has made me fall in love with dance in a new way.

The Urgent Need: Securing Our New, Larger Studio

We're ecstatic because Autistic Wings has moved into a much larger studio space, to eliminate our long waiting list! This move was essential, but the costs of getting the new facility ready for our dancers are significant.

Your donation will help us:

  1. Build a Sensory-Safe Environment: Convert the new space into a functional, safe environment, including essential acoustic paneling and specialized lighting.

  2. Expand Class Offerings: The larger space finally gives us the capacity to eliminate the waiting list and open evening and weekend classes for both children and adults.

  3. Ensure Stability: Cover the added monthly operational costs of a larger studio so we can focus on our dancers, not the rent.

  4. Supporting Teachers: Covers supplies, resources, and training to ensure the safety of every dancer who comes in the door.

How You Can Help Our Dancers Fly

Your gift is an investment in a stable, celebratory future for neurodivergent artists.

An example, Spencer one of our dancers, his favorite thing to dance with is ribbons. Every pack of fresh ribbons costs $20, and that small cost provides him with pure joy and expressive freedom.

  • Become a Ribbons Guardian ($20/month recurring): This level ensures we can keep our supply of ribbons and sensory tools stocked year-round!

  • One-Time Gift: Every dollar you give is amplified by the Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund!

  • $100: Sponsors one student's tap shoes for their first performance in our new space.

  • $250: Covers one month of the increased utility costs in our new, larger studio.

Thank you for helping us give the next generation of autistic dancers the wings they need to fly!
