A Place to Belong. A Future to Build.

A Place to Belong. A Future to Build.

Imagine turning 18 and being expected to navigate adulthood without the support system so many of us rely on. No one to call when life gets difficult. No familiar place to turn for guidance, encouragement, or simply someone who cares.

For many youth aging out of foster care, this is their reality.

At Foster Alumni Mentors (FAM), we believe you don't age out of family. Everyone deserves connection, support, and a place where they belong, regardless of their age.

Since 2017, FAM has supported more than 300 individuals who have experienced foster or kinship care. What started with meetings in coffee shops has grown into a 4,400-square-foot space where members build relationships, access resources, celebrate milestones, and find a community that stands beside them.

Our facility is also home to The Inspired Starfish, our mission-driven thrift store and workforce development program, creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Help Us Make FAM's Space Permanent

We are raising $800,000 by July 1, 2027, to purchase our current facility in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Today, FAM spends approximately $60,300 annually on rent. Purchasing our building will provide long-term stability, protect the programs and relationships we've built, and help ensure this space remains available for generations to come.

With a required closing date of August 31, 2027, reaching our fundraising goal by July 1 will give us the time needed to finalize the purchase.

But this campaign is about more than purchasing a building.

It's about ensuring the young adult navigating life after foster care always has somewhere to turn. That milestones are celebrated, challenges aren't faced alone, and everyone who walks through our doors knows they matter.

Be Part of Making FAM's Home Permanent

We've already created a place to belong. Now, we need your help to make it permanent.

Every donation brings us closer to securing a future where youth aging out of foster care have a community they can count on, a place to turn when life gets difficult, and people who will stand beside them through every milestone and challenge.

Will you help us make this possible?

Make a gift today, share our campaign with others, and help us ensure that FAM continues to be a place of belonging for generations of foster care alumni.

Together, we can turn nine years of building belonging into a permanent home for our mission.

Because you don't age out of family.
