Since 2004, the Messenich Family has devoted their lives and their facility to a singular mission: making the world a better place for both horses and humans.

Paul and Jodi’s journey began in 1995 with one horse at a small boarding facility in Colorado. Their passion quickly grew, and within a few years, they owned eight horses, leading them to establish American Sport Horses. Competing in the Hunter/Jumper circuit across the United States, the Messenichs gained valuable experience and insight into the world of horses. But in 2004, as their daughter Victoria left for college, the family’s focus shifted. It was then that they rescued their first group of seven horses from dire circumstances. That pivotal moment sparked a movement, and by 2008, Zuma’s Rescue Ranch had become a fully-fledged 501c3 charitable organization. Since then, the Messenichs and their supporters have saved hundreds of horses, while transforming the lives of countless humans through their animal-assisted programs.

Zuma’s mission is clear: 'Through compassion-based education and animal advocacy, we are changing the perception of how horses are trained and animals are treated, while healing humans through our animal-assisted learning programs.' This mission is not just about rescuing animals—it’s about creating a world where no horse ever needs to be rescued in the first place.

But we can’t do it alone. This year, I am raising funds to support Zuma’s critical work, so they can rescue, rehabilitate, and positively impact more lives than ever before. Every donation brings us one step closer to a future where horses and humans thrive together. Join me in supporting this life-changing mission, and let’s create a world where rescue is no longer needed
