I remember my very first Local Lab in Boulder almost a decade ago. The audience watched a scene come alive while the playwright, sitting nearby, absorbed every reaction—every breath in the room. Actors leaned into discovery, taking risks with each line, and the audience met that vulnerability with curiosity and care. A lively facilitated post-show conversation offered valuable insights, helping move the play to its next stage of development. 

Theater experiences like that capture everything I cherish about Local: discovery, courage, and community. It’s why I believe so deeply in this work.
