As you might know, educating and mentoring is a passion of mine. For this season of giving, I am supporting the students at the Community College of Aurora (CCA). Colorado Gives Day is Dec. 9th, and I am hoping you can help me reach my personal goal of at least 10 donations of any amount, to the CCA Foundation.  Our data shows that 40% more students achieve their education goals when they receive a scholarship. I am a Board Member of the Community College of Aurora (CCA) Foundation. CCA is the most diverse college in the state of Colorado. The CCA Foundation supports CCA’s overall mission to make education possible for every student. We help fulfill this mission by providing over $1 million in scholarships to students.    

One of our amazing students is José Ruelas, a Presidential Scholar. José is studying to be a nurse in the competitive Integrated Nursing Pathway, our partnership with CU.  As a first-generation student, veteran, and parent, the scholarship not only took an immediate financial burden off his family, but inspired him to give back. “One of the things I enjoy most about being in school is seeing how what I learn can be applied to real life... I’m excited to take those skills and use them to help people, solve problems, and make a positive impact through healthcare.”
