Help the Tabor bring the arts to rural CO! 🎭

In 2016, the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the Tabor Opera House a National Treasure. Since then, the Tabor Opera House Foundation (TOHPF) has acted on its singular vision: To revitalize this historic landmark and build a community hub for arts and culture that serves Colorado's Arkansas Valley and beyond.

In the last several years, the TOHPF has raised $3.5 million to complete exterior renovations on this beautiful building. Now, we're now turning our attention to restore the historic interior, kicking off a multi-year capital campaign to ensure the Tabor is fully preserved for generations to enjoy.

Meanwhile, we need your help to continue the diverse and robust programming our patrons have come to appreciate. In 2025 alone, the Tabor stage hosted a locally-produced musical review; a 24-hour theater festival; community fundraisers; documentary films; standup comedy; and touring music including the Young Dubliners, Hazel Miller, Chris Daniels, and others. In rural mountain towns, it's rare to have a venue offering these types of programs, and the TOHPF is grateful to its generous donors, sponsors, and partners, who help us share arts and culture in the high Rockies of central Colorado.

2025 Accomplishments at the Tabor Opera House

• Completed exterior renovation after six construction seasons!
• Presented 22 events in partnership with more than 17 nonprofits and local organizations this season. Special thanks to our Live Performance Series partners, Lyric Theatre of Leadville.
• Served over 5,000 visitors.
• Upgraded our equipment and licensing to show feature films, with support from Visit Leadville/Twin Lakes.
• Hosted free youth workshops with the Tabor Youth Collective, and gave away more than 200 tickets to youth and their families.
• Completed a capital campaign plan for our next phase of renovation, the Tabor Opera House interior.
