Why does mentoring matter?

Mentoring is life-changing with a ripple effect that doesn’t just touch one life, but can transform schools and communities, shape future leaders, and create a better world. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado, we believe that every young person deserves to graduate high school with a plan for their future and with the guidance of a mentor whose impact lasts a lifetime.    

The need in our community is significant, and that's why we're expanding! We've grown our programs to include not only 1-on-1 mentoring, but also school-based peer mentoring. This year, we’re on track to serve 1,660 youth.

Yet, the demand continues to outpace our capacity. Nearly 300 children—most of them boys—are still waiting to be matched with a mentor. Your gift on Colorado Gives Day will help sustain our programs and bring us closer to reaching those kids who are waiting for the mentor they deserve.
