Like many community oriented non profits, Boulder Food Rescue relies heavily on volunteers to assist in the day to day movement of our operation. Whether it be redirecting food away from landfills, tabling at community events, or acting behind the scenes to improve workflows, volunteers are the grease that keeps the food movement going and growing! We deeply cherish the community we are a part of, and people like you help us to bring the city of Boulder closer together. Good food, people powered, equitable distribution of food is the name of the game, and together we work to uplift others in the community and make it a place with more equal standing.

Over 14 years of our work, we have connected Boulder's residents to food on a daily basis via our popup no-cost grocery program. Boulder has an abundance of food producers in the form of small farms, restaurants, and grocery stores, yet food insecurity is still prevalent. At Boulder Food Rescue, we intend to connect more purveyors to its residents who benefit from increased food access. By investing in BFR’s work you are deepening connections of food justice, implementing Boulder's health conscious culture, and working to divest ourselves from traditional food distribution models that don't serve those who need it most. As well, you will help us meet the need we see heading into 2026. Every day we redirect food away from landfills and towards people living with food insecurity, we lower greenhouse gas emissions and promote inclusive community focused values. Who doesn’t love that? The work volunteers do for Boulder Food Rescue is invaluable. The connections made by a bicycle taking food around the city are palpable for everyone involved.
