New update
This is one of my favorite pictures from my time at Heartland - with Mike, who leads out on the Member Board of Directors and shares his story with the Speakers Bureau program.
Early June -- 1/3 of goal reached! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!
HEALING HAPPENS IN COMMUNITY
Join me in building a more connected, caring community!
I support mental health and wellness because I've managed (and struggled with) depression and anxiety for 20+ years. I've been fortunate to have ACCESS to mental health services when I needed them. I've also had a strong support system to get me through difficult times.
I support Heartland because it makes such a HUGE impact, not only by providing personalized mental health services but also by offering opportunities for members/clients to GET INVOLVED WITH THE COMMUNITY through groups and outings, our peer employment program, the member board of directors, or our speakers’ bureau program.
It helps provide PURPOSE and a SENSE OF BELONGING — key aspects for my own mental well-being and recovery.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month & June is Men's MH Awareness Month
In 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General issued an advisory calling loneliness and social isolation an epidemic, noting that social disconnection is linked to increased risk of anxiety and depression and a higher risk of premature death.
Colorado Health Access Survey (CHAS) found that about 1 in 5 Coloradans reported feeling lonely, and nearly 30% of Denver residents reported some level of loneliness.
Suicide-related deaths are four times higher among males compared to females (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention).
About Heartland Mental Health
For more than 35 years, Heartland Mental Health has been a place of stability, connection, and healing for hundreds of Denver residents each year.
At Heartland, people receive personalized mental health services, build a sense of belonging within a supportive community, and develop a sense of purpose through employment and volunteer leadership.
Heartland accepts Colorado Access (Medicaid) insurance, assisting individuals facing financial barriers so they can access these important services quickly and when needed.

Member Impact
“Heartland saved my life. They got me in as a new client when I was at the end of my rope, and other places couldn’t get me in for months. I love the community we have here. They give me so much love and support. There’s no other place I’d rather be.”
