Rise Up Against Fracking

Colorado Rising For Communities is powering a grassroots movement to protect our health, safety, quality of life, and the future of our climate from the harms and impacts of oil and gas operations. 

Every day, new oil and gas wells are proposed in Colorado next to our schools, homes, and water sources. Not only do they threaten our climate and ecosystems, they threaten the health and safety of our communities. 

Yet, many Coloradans are still unaware of the impacts of fracking in our state. To help motivate our leaders to phase out fracking, we need to educate and grow the movement of concerned community members and help them take action. 

With your support in 2026 we will: 

• Educate communities and leaders about the harms of fracking
• Support communities facing or on the frontlines of fracking 
• Build momentum and mobilize thousands for a statewide phase out of fracking 
• Help Colorado envision and build a climate-safe future beyond oil and gas

My story — and why this matters so deeply to me

As someone who first joined Colorado Rising by knocking doors during Prop 112, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when everyday people decide they’ve had enough — enough harm, enough spin, enough of being told our safety doesn’t matter.

I didn’t grow up feeling safe, and that experience fuels me every day. I will never stop fighting for a Colorado where every family can breathe clean air, drink safe water, and trust that their community comes before corporate profit.

This year alone, we reached thousands of neighbors with the truth about oil spills happening right next to their homes. We stood with students learning that their schools are surrounded by industrial sites — and we helped them raise their voices and lead. We built new programs, new partnerships, and new pathways toward a Colorado that protects the people who live here.

And here’s the truth: we do all of this because people like you make it possible.

We don’t have corporate backers. We don’t have political insiders whispering in our ear.We have Coloradans who care — who show up — who believe in protecting each other and the places we love.
