Archery: Outdoor Participation

Help autistic adults continue exploring archery with experienced instruction, appropriate equipment, and the support needed to participate.

CommuniKeys has worked with Colorado Youth Outdoors on an archery series. We want to build on those experiences through opportunities to return, become familiar with the setting and equipment, and pursue an outdoor interest alongside caregivers and peers.

• Experienced instruction and access to suitable archery equipment and facilities.
• Staff coordination, preparation, and support during sessions.
• Communication access, sensory preparation, and predictable safety routines.
• Repeated experiences with room for different ways to engage and participate.

Caregivers attend alongside the adults they support. Sessions are planned with recreation partners around participant interests, support needs, and safe equipment use.

Funding this activity

Our current annual planning range is approximately $10,000–$15,000 for this activity area, depending on equipment and instruction needs. This campaign’s $10,000 goal supports archery as one component of Outdoor Participation within CommuniKeys’ $250,000 annual fundraising effort.
