We’re carrying forward something Ashlyn started a long time ago. 🤍
When she was little, after we’d finish a meal in Denver, she would take her leftovers and give them to the first person she saw who needed it. It wasn’t something she was told to do—it was just who she was.
That kindness never left her.
This week, Liam shared that the two of them would make sandwiches and cupcakes together, package everything up, and walk to where people were gathered to hand out food and care. That memory means everything to us.
So today, with the meals so many of you have generously given our family, we packed them up and are sharing them throughout Longmont—just like Ashlyn would.
Tomorrow, we’ll continue honoring her by visiting the Longmont Food Rescue pop-up farmers market in the park—an organization that reflects her love of food, community, and helping others.
If you’d like to honor Ashlyn, we invite you to support Longmont Food Rescue or simply do something kind for someone else. That’s how her love lives on. 🤍
Longmont Food Rescue (LFR) is a hunger relief nonprofit that rescues nutritious food that might otherwise go to waste and redistributes it directly to people experiencing food, housing, and financial insecurity in our community. LFR is committed to co-creating a sustainable and accessible food system, founded on respect and dignity for all, and removing any barriers to free food access.
Donations made in Ashlyn's honor will be used to support LFR's programs, including No-Cost Groceries for low-income and senior households, keeping Longmont Community Fridges stocked, and free weekly food distributions in Longmont. Your donation helps provide more food access and nutritional support to our neighbors in need.
