HCSA’s scholarship program helps ensure that financial circumstances do not prevent a child from participating in soccer. To date, the program has provided more than 600 players with the opportunity to participate in HCSA programs who otherwise may not have been able to afford the cost of registration, equipment, and participation.
For these players, a scholarship represents much more than financial assistance—it provides access to a team, a coach, a healthy activity, and a community where they can belong and grow. Through soccer, scholarship recipients develop confidence, teamwork, discipline, responsibility, and leadership while building friendships and connections with other children and families throughout Summit County.
Scholarships also help create a more inclusive soccer community by ensuring that talented and enthusiastic players can continue developing regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. By removing a significant barrier to participation, HCSA is able to keep children engaged in organized sports and provide opportunities for them to progress from recreational programs into developmental and competitive soccer.
The impact extends beyond the individual player. Every scholarship helps build stronger teams, more connected families, and a healthier, more inclusive community—advancing HCSA’s commitment to ensuring that every child who wants to play soccer has the opportunity to play.
