As a father and member of the Clyfford Still Museum’s board of directors, I’m proud to support programs that help children across Colorado discover the joy of art and creativity from the very beginning. The Still is a civic treasure—rooted right here in Denver and powered by a belief that art belongs to everyone. This Colorado Gives Day, I’m raising funds to support Art Crawl, Maker Mornings, and inStill School Experiences, programs that nurture imagination, learning, and connection for families and students throughout our state.
At The Still, we believe creativity starts early. In Art Crawl, babies and their caregivers explore the galleries in a calm, welcoming space guided by skilled educators who design sensory-rich, art-inspired experiences. The program has become a national model for early childhood engagement and continues to grow through partnerships with local nonprofits that bring this experience to families who may not otherwise visit the Museum.
For slightly older children, Maker Mornings invite exploration through storytelling, play, and artmaking in The Making Space, our interactive studio at the heart of the Museum. These monthly sessions connect families through creativity, building a foundation for lifelong engagement with the arts and with Denver’s cultural community.
And through inStill School Experiences, we welcome thousands of PreK–12 students each year for hands-on, inquiry-based programs that encourage creative thinking and personal expression. The program prioritizes schools receiving Title 1 and Head Start funding, offering scholarships, transportation assistance, and educator support to ensure every child has access to the arts—no matter their background or neighborhood.
