Colorado Springs is facing a shortage of affordable and attainable housing. The purpose of the Pikes Peak Veteran Housing Fund is to get veterans experiencing homelessness into housing. The Fund offers financial assistance to veterans to help them obtain housing as well as offering compensation to landlords if damages and unpaid rent are incurred. The Fund provides incentives such as diversion funds, security deposits, application fees, gap funding, utility arears, and damage mitigation. There is a cap of $5,000 per client, per year, for total amount of financial assistance.
