SoulSpark Learning’s mission is to optimize the development and well-being of youth and the educators who care for them.

Vision

Our vision is for an education system that prioritizes educator health and prepares teachers to engage student strengths and interests through meaningful and highly individualized instruction. We reference exemplary practices for neurodiverse gifted and twice-exceptional youth as a launching off point for innovation. The future of humanity hinges on the innovative and collaborative power of young people and we are committed to supporting each in bringing their best selves forward.

The Solutions We Create

We develop the skills needed to facilitate individualized and meaningful whole child instruction.

We teach educators how to teach children rather than how to deliver curriculum.

We co-create communities where each feels belonging.

We PRACTICE what we TEACH.

The majority of schools are not designed to be responsive to individual student strengths, interests or developmental and cultural complexities. In placing too much emphasis on process oriented tasks, schools often fail to engage the portions of the brain critical for learning and innovation. Furthermore, student mental health is reaching crisis level and only 1 in 5 teens report feeling a sense of purpose. SoulSpark Learning’s research informed approach provides a roadmap to change. Informed by IRB reviewed research registered with the Library of Congress, SoulSpark Learning’s programming and services support the interdependent aspects of development that impact life outcomes.

Program & Services Overview

SoulSpark is defined as the place where each person’s unique constellation of strengths and interests connect with opportunity to shine and be of service. Our inquiry-based, participatory approach enable us to continually refine practices. Our focus on what IS working, rather than on student and educator deficits, coupled with an intimate understanding of the complexities of schools set SoulSpark Learning apart. We bridge the distance between existing instructional practices and where schools, educators, parents and students would like to be.

SoulSpark Learning advances the nonprofit’s mission through workshops, design retreats, presentations, advocacy, support groups, educator awards, program evaluations, as well as parent and educator coaching.

Our team includes educator, parent, health care, scholar and nonprofit leaders. Programming is co-created and continually refined in response to community feedback.
