This program helps set students up for success post-high school. True North works weekly with juniors and seniors at Telluride, Norwood, and Nucla High Schools. We help students obtain financial aid for colleges and vocational schools through completion of the FAFSA and scholarship applications. Our work is founded in the belief that all students should have equitable access to higher education, information, opportunities, resources, and support.
True North’s workforce placement program helps students create resumes, practice interview skills, and begin to develop professional strengths and confidence. We have been able to offer paid professional development and accreditation programs like the Catering Apprenticeship program, where students developed culinary skills and gain Food Handler certifications, and The San Miguel Current, our student journalism program that offers students the ability to have their work published, and grow their editorial skills.
We work with students individually to help them develop their dreams and the means to achieve them. By providing an accessible framework for navigating high school and encouraging self-advocacy, True North helps students successfully transition into adulthood.
To directly uplift rural, underserved students to fulfill their higher education journeys, please donate to our scholarship fund today. All donations to this fundraiser will go toward supporting college and trades school scholarships!
