FrontLine Farming approaches sustainable food production by looking at the whole system, from water conservation, to technology for a changing climate, to ethical treatment of the humans who work the land.
FrontLine Farming grows over 30,000 pounds of food annually across our 3 farms using techniques such as efficient irrigation, conservation tilling, permaculture design, companion planting, and encouraging biodiversity. We are committed to paying farmers livable wages with health benefits - something that is uncommon across the industry. The food and medicine we grow is distributed through our weekly food share, which has low-cost and no-cost options for low income community members, through donations and food pantries, and is used directly in our education programs.
The recent addition of a greenhouse to our production methods has allowed us to produce more food for longer, better supporting the health, security, and self-determination of our neighbors. We have a dedicated space for our seedlings and an indoor space for our seasonal classes!
Donations to this fund will allow us to build permanent bathrooms and upgrade our systems for more energy efficiency and cut down on our utility bills.
