Colorado Gives 2022 Newbie Award Winner
Our Foundation was awarded one of three Newbie Prizes for joining Colorado Gives this year. We are so grateful to FirstBank of supporting this prize, and we are honored to be a member of this supportive, positive community. Thank you Colorado Gives.
Students at Renaissance participate in Voyages to gain the highest degree of learning the Colorado great outdoors can offer. Voyage experiences build from year to year; a kindergarten student learns basic skills in navigating the outdoors with safety on day trips, while a sixth grader goes on multi-day trips to explore and face personal and group challenges in the wilderness discovering a stronger self and developing a stronger community.
The Renaissance teachers and staff also seek to provide the highest level of learning and deepest connections to our students with the use of Expeditionary Learning, a philosophy that uses cross-curricular modalities to draw together key concepts and heighten understanding.
The REA Parent Crew works year round to fund a variety of community and academic initiatives that support the mission and vision of Renaissance Elementary School. Our fundraising activities cover a huge breadth of supports to the school including: staff development opportunities, adventure education materials and staffing, playground maintenance and updates, library enhancements, technology upgrades, a variety of staff grant and funding requests, regular staff appreciation, and community-building activities.
