Hello North Carter Trail families!
This will be the 50th year of the Housing and Human Services Family-To-Family Holiday Program! Our North Carter Trail Neighborhood is always one of the most generous groups.
The HHS motto, "hope for the future, help when you need it" symbolizes our efforts to place support, family self-sufficiency and safety at the forefront of all our work. We are using every opportunity to form partnerships with families by giving them the primary voice in decisions that affect their lives. With that in mind, we are asking you to support financially struggling families and individuals by donating so they can receive gift cards to purchase presents for their families this holiday season.
The link for donations is: https://mtyc.co/u3w9pf
The recipients of these gift cards are families and individuals who are involved with Child Protection, Foster Care, Adolescent, And Adult Protection (later life and disabled adults) programs, Prevention Services, and basic needs families. Referrals to Family-To-Family are submitted by Housing & Human Services support specialists and caseworkers who refer individuals and families that have the lowest income and greatest need.
The Family-To-Family Program brings tremendous joy to the people we serve. It allows a mother earning low wages to purchase the gifts she knows her two young children have been wishing for this season. It helps parents light up their kids' faces during the holidays. It captures the spirit of hope and help each holiday season.
Donations made by check or online simplify our process which allows individuals and families to receive their gift cards earlier and take advantage of more holiday bargains. In response to a donor suggestion, we created an online donation option through Colorado Gives. As always, you are welcome to purchase Target or Walmart gift cards in $25 increments. I can pick those up from you, or you can drop them off to me, Wendy Blakemore, 6967 Green Willow Ct.
You are the heart of this program. We couldn't do this without you, and we need your support. The sum of $50 per person can be used to gauge the maximum number of people you would like to support. We would prefer to receive all donations by December 8th. If we are fortunate enough to have donations remaining at the end of the holiday season, they will be used to meet the critical and emergent needs of families and individuals throughout the year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Wendy Blakemore, 303-618-9325, wblakemore2@gmail.com.
