At the Colorado Art Therapy Association (COATA), we believe art is more than self-expression it’s a tool for inclusion, healing, and social change.
Art Therapy Activism Committee
Led by Rachel Cimino, MPS, LPC, ATR-BC, our Art Therapy Activism Committee guides COATA’s advocacy initiatives for art therapists across Colorado.With support from the American Art Therapy Association, this committee raises public awareness about art therapy, expands access to creative mental health services, and advances legislative and regulatory efforts that strengthen our profession.
The committee meets monthly and welcomes members and the public to be heard ensuring that our advocacy is inclusive, transparent, and community-drive
