Un-bottle and Protect Chaffee County Water works to protect natural aquifers and to keep plastic out of our waterways and out of our landfill. We strive to live up to the goal identified in Chaffee County’s comprehensive plan of becoming a model county for sustainability.
We provide education about water sustainability issues; promote access to drinking water that is free of corporate commodification and plastic pollution, and hold accountable those who exploit our community’s water resources.
We are solution-oriented and committed to working toward positive change. We encourage the use of reusable water bottles and have launched a public education campaign called, “Fill Good, Feel Good” to increase the number of water bottle filling stations in public spaces. The city of Salida has partnered with us and funds raised will be used toward these efforts. https://www.cityofsalida.com/administration/page/sustainability
