A Lifeline for Farmers and Ranchers

Across the Rocky Mountain region, farmers and ranchers face a silent crisis. Beyond the visible hardships—droughts, wildfires, volatile markets—there’s a quieter but equally urgent battle: protecting the mental health and well-being of the people who feed our nation

AgWell was built to meet this critical need. Through workshops, peer support, referrals to mental health services, and community-building events, AgWell creates spaces where farmers and ranchers can connect, heal, and find the strength to keep going—together.

Today, we need your help to keep this lifeline alive.

Your support will directly fund all of AgWell’s programming through the end of 2026—covering every event, every training, every connection point that farmers and ranchers rely on. With your help, we can ensure that every farmer who reaches out for support will find it.

One producer recently shared how, after losing her barn, ewes, and lambs to a fire, she leaned heavily on AgWell’s network: "Speaking with others who truly understood the layers of heartache and stress made all the difference. Without these resources, I'm truly scared for the future of farmers."

Another former full-time farmer described hitting a personal breaking point: "There was a time I couldn’t even trust myself to be alone. Farming wasn’t just my job — it was my identity — and when things fell apart, so did I. Programs like AgWell saved my life by reminding me I didn’t have to carry everything by myself."

These experiences are not rare. Farming and ranching are among the most isolating, emotionally demanding professions in America. Mental health challenges — depression, anxiety, burnout, and grief — are compounded by long-standing cultural barriers against asking for help.

AgWell is working to break those barriers.

If we want strong, resilient rural communities tomorrow, we must invest in the health and well-being of the people who sustain them today.

Donate now to keep AgWell’s programs going strong — because a thriving farm starts with a thriving farmer.
