It takes water in local rivers to do anything and everything

$1,350

raised by 4 people

I moved to the Eagle Valley in 1974 to ski.  It takes snowmaking for a ski area to function. Snowmaking takes water.

In April of 1979, I started a new job at Beaver Creek with the Planning Dept.

The person in charge convinced me to give whitewater kayaking a try. Decades later, I had kayaked the majority of the Eagle and Colorado rivers, including the Grand Canyon. It takes healthy flowing rivers to kayak.

In the 1990's, I started to play golf. It takes water to play golf.

In the 2000's, I was on the boards of the Upper Eagle Valley Water Authority, the Eagle River Water and Sanitation District, the Clinton Ditch and Reservoir Company, and the Eagle Park Reservoir Company - where I learned that it takes water in the river to do anything and everything.

If you have running water in your home, it takes water in the river.

In 2016, I joined the Watershed Council board. The nonprofit advocates for the river through research, education and projects. As advocates for the river, ERWC helps protect the river that makes our lives in the Eagle Valley possible. Without it, none of us would be here.

Please help protect the river by making a donation to Eagle River Watershed Council for Colorado Gives Day.

The BONUS? All of us on the Board of Directors have pledged a total of $25,000 that will be given as a Board Match Challenge. This means that the gifts will be DOUBLED until we hit $25,000!
