STRIDE's Cancer Screening Care Navigation Team is dedicated to closing the cancer screening gap for uninsured patients in our community who need financial assistance. Many patients face significant barriers to care including, transportation, childcare, work schedules, and finances.
Patient Needs:
36 patients younger than 40 and
84 patients older than 65
require diagnostic procedures due to cancer screening symptoms.
Average total cost= $1,075
More information: Patients with symptoms need a diagnostic mammogram ($175 for unilateral imaging) as opposed to only a mammogram ($100 for unilateral imaging) for an accurate diagnosis. Many of these patients also need a biopsy ($750–$900).
