A Message from Stefanie Carroll, Executive Director, LPS Foundation
Dear Friends,
Across Littleton Public Schools, too many families are struggling to put food on the table as food insecurity continues to impact households throughout Colorado. School leaders, counselors, and social workers are telling us the same thing: The need is urgent—and it’s growing.
The Littleton Public Schools Foundation is stepping up to help. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to provide direct grocery support to more than 300 LPS families who need it most.
Every dollar donated goes straight to purchasing grocery gift cards, which are distributed by trusted school social workers and family liaisons to families experiencing food insecurity.
Here’s what counselors at two of our schools shared:
“When our students are hungry, it’s hard for them to focus on anything else—especially learning and growing. They are truly in survival mode.”
“When I gave one student a grocery gift card, he broke down in tears and said, ‘We can buy fruit!’ His family hadn’t been able to afford fresh fruit for a long time, and the joy he felt was overwhelming.”
A $50 gift provides one grocery gift card, sent home discreetly in an LPS student’s backpack for the weekend—often alongside food from their school pantry.
Your support helps parents provide nutritious meals, relieves the impossible choice between food and other essentials, and reminds families that their community truly cares.
Please join me in making a difference. Your gift—no matter the size—will have an immediate, meaningful impact on students and families right here in our community.
With deep gratitude,
Stef ♥
