Girls quit sports at twice the rate of boys. You can change that.

Colorado Gives Day is Tuesday, December 8, and early giving opens November 1. Every gift made here from November 1 through December 8 is boosted by the statewide Incentive Fund. $60 gives five girls a free clinic experience.

Last school year, Sportswomen of Colorado ran 8 free sports clinics for 1,032 students at 8 Title I and high need schools across Denver, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Boulder and Weld counties. Five sports. Six collegiate teams from MSU Denver, the University of Colorado, the University of Denver and the University of Northern Colorado, plus athletes from Cherokee Trail and Evergreen high schools.

Together those schools average 76.5% free or reduced lunch eligibility. About 78% of the students we serve are students of color. The clinics are free to the school and free to families, and we hold them on site so transportation is never the reason a girl misses out.

We had set a goal of reaching 1,000 students by 2028. We got there in 2026. Now more schools are asking for clinics than we can schedule. That gap is what this campaign closes.

What your gift does

  • $25 provides shirts and clinic gear for two girls
  • $60 gives five girls a free clinic experience
  • $150 gives 12 girls a free clinic experience
  • $400 provides equipment that stays at the school
  • $25 a month gives 25 girls a free clinic experience every year

We have been at this since 1974, when we became the first community based organization in the country to honor female athletes at the state level. Since our first banquet in 1975, we have recognized over 2,200 girls, women, coaches and teams. Since 2001, our camp scholarships have sent Colorado girls ages 8 to 13 to summer sports camps their families could not otherwise afford.

Help us schedule the next clinic.
