Support The Rocky Mountain Rapids
A nonprofit fundraiser supporting
Rocky Mountain RapidsThe Rocky Mountain Rapids Swim team is committed to making competitive swimming affordable to all!
$750
raised by 4 people
The Rocky Mountain Rapids Swim team is deeply committed to making competitive swimming accessible to all children, fostering not only athletic skills but also important life values such as discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. To break down the financial barriers that might deter participation, we offer needs-based scholarships that cover membership fees and travel expenses for meets, including high-level competitions like regional and zone championships, and diversity camps.
The costs associated with competitive swimming—ranging from memberships and coaching to equipment and travel—can exclude talented individuals who cannot afford these expenses.
Our team's objective is to ensure that every child with the interest and drive to swim competitively can do so, regardless of their financial situation.
We need your help to continue towards our goal of affordable swimming for all.
WHAT IS COLORADO YOUTH SPORTS GIVING DAY?
It’s an initiative to help grow youth-sports-related non-profits in Colorado on September 3, 2025.
The best part of the program is that donations will be matched!
For example, if you give $150 to the fundraiser, the team will get a matching amount up to $150. So, your total contribution could grow to $300.
You can click the button on this page to donate.
WHY IS THE RAPIDS PARTICIPATING IN THIS COLORADO YOUTH SPORTS GIVING DAY?
Because our team operating budget relies on fundraising, we always have a fall fundraiser. The fall fundraiser is typically the Swim-A-Thon.
This year, for the fall fundraiser, we decided to join the Colorado Youth Sports Giving Day because it gives us access to obtain matching funds. This makes all the donations go further!
WHY IS THIS TIME-SENSITIVE?
The matching fund program is on September 3rd so time is of the essence.
The more we raise, the more of the matching fund we will receive!
With the matching, this is a fantastic way to make “rapid” progress toward this year’s fundraising goals.
WHY DOES THE RAPIDS TEAM NEED TO RAISE MONEY?
Swim fees only cover 67% of the team’s operating budget.
Therefore, we rely on fundraising to fill in the remaining 33% of the team’s operating budget, keeping monthly fees affordable while ensuring quality training and facilities.
Your contribution helps us maintain a low swimmer-to-coach ratio and ensures access to essential resources like pool time.
We’re not just relying on families for fundraising.
While we’re asking for your help, we’re also adding more fundraising opportunities, such as community/business sponsorships and Rapids-hosted meets, so that we’re raising money from a variety of sources.
WHO CAN DONATE?
Anyone! Please consider forwarding this email to friends, family, and employers who may be willing to support.
Any amount helps, big or small! Even $25 can grow up to $50 with the match. Our goal is to raise $12,500 to meet our financial needs for the season.
HOW DOES MATCHING WORK?
Several Colorado-based foundations have donated money to this matching program for Colorado Youth Sports Gives Month.
They’ve set up the matching program so that the more a non-profit raises, the greater the % of the matching pot they’ll receive.
We want to raise as much as possible to max out our matching opportunity!
HOW MUCH SHOULD I DONATE?
Any amount helps, big or small! Even $50 could grow up to $100 with the match. Our goal is to raise $12,500 to meet our financial needs for the season.
If you’d like a guideline, the team has previously suggested $100-$250 per swimmer.
IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
We always advise you to check with your accountant, but Rocky Mountain Rapids is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, so typically donations are tax deductible.
