In 2021, Nicole Stone-Lankes experienced a devastating event in her family when her daughter was assaulted. The aftermath was as traumatic as the event – as she and her child faced an exhaustive journey plagued with a lack of justice, of empathy and of understanding. The one positive result of this tragedy was the founding of Faultless Inc. Every day in Colorado and around the country our youth are under attack. It is estimated that 1 in 3 Coloradoans will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, with 89% of those being prior to the age of 25. None of this takes into account the aftermath and other ways that sexual violence impacts a child’s future. It doesn’t note the shaming, blaming, re-victimization and the long term impact on mental health and youth suicide. Not to mention acts that go unreported, acts of cyber bullying, sexual abuse in the home, sex trafficking incidents, and the list goes on and on. And more often than not, the many crimes that go unpunished due to a lack of appropriate and timely legislation in our justice system. Though uncomfortable, these numbers cannot simply be ignored. As seen below in our 2022 sexual assault numbers reported by our Montrose Memorial Hospital Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Coordinator, Jennifer Eckerman, there has never been a more important time to educate our youth about prevention, to provide the knowledge and tools needed to parents, children and educators to prevent these types of events - to help end a life of trauma for the high number of children who face these issues every day.
Our Mission
The Mission of Faultless Inc. is to put an end to child abuse and victimization; to establish community initiatives and partnerships that bring awareness and protect children.
Faultless is dedicated to protecting our children by implementing age appropriate prevention education (Prevent 360) starting in Pre-K through twelfth grade that teaches body safety, digital safety, all forms of abuse ( verbal, physical and sexual), sex trafficking, cyber bullying and mental health in all western slope Colorado School Districts, youth faith based and non-faith based organizations.
Along with prevention education implementation in our community, Faultless hosts fun FREE youth immersive education events, such as our;
S.A.A.M #BELIEVE Day on April, 22nd
Jack@$$ Olympics on May 13th
Youth Silent Disco on August 19th
In addition, our Mission is to change legislation; to lobby with local senators and legislators to modify Colorado’s 10-year exception statutory rape law that does not protect our children.
With Colorado being #6 out of our 50 states in rape per 100,000 inhabitants
and our local problem: a 200% increase in 12-17 year olds reporting sexual assault cases in the last two years. We must now abandon the notion that “it doesn’t happen here.”
