Julian's Fundraiser

I first joined the ACLU of Colorado in 2018 because the future of my rights, and the rights of many others, were looking dim. I saw the power in a legal approach to social justice that was also powered by people. Since starting, i've seen how our use of a 3-prong approach holds governments and institutions accountable to our constitutional rights. We show up every year to create laws with partners across the state who hold the same human-centered values that we do. We travel the state and work hand-in-hand with community to increase knowledge and familiarity with our legal rights and participation in every level of democracry. And of course, we are famously known for suing the government. 

I've met people from other countries who have watched their democracies become nothing because they didn't have organizations like the ACLU holding their governments accountable to the very laws they are meant to uphold. My favorite part about the ACLU is that we fight for the rights of all people because we know that what impacts one, impacts all. 

Because our work is powered by people, we rely on people to keep our bus moving. With you at our side, ACLU of Colorado will continue to take bold steps to:  

• Repair the harms of systemic racism by increasing housing access, economic opportunity, and voting access.  
• Build racially equitable alternatives to policing, prosecutions, and prisons.
• Protect and expand fundamental privacy and liberty rights under Colorado law, regardless of what happens at the federal level.
