Washington Park Early Learning Center Relocation

Washington Park Early Learning Center (WPELC), an Early Childhood Cooperative Preschool in Denver established in 1973, has rented space in the Washington Park United Church of Christ at 400 S Williams St for 10 years. Prior to this location we spent 40 years housed in Washington Park United Methodist Church at 1955 E Arizona Avenue. WPELC recently learned that due to the impending sale of the WPUCC church property, we will need to move again and are encountering very high costs to bring the new spaces up to code and make the changes we need to ensure the new location is safe and in line with our mission. 

WPELC was started by a group of parents in Washington Park to create a warm, nurturing environment where their children could play and learn the value of a community. 50 years later the school is still thriving and has stayed strong in its mission to bring families and educators together to create a respectful, supportive environment for children and families that encourages each child’s style and pace of learning. At WPELC we strive to foster self-esteem, individuality, and creativity. Students develop a love of learning and the courage to question and explore through opportunities to create, solve problems, and advocate for diverse solutions. 

We need your help to keep our sweet school evolving as we navigate another relocation. Our fundraising will help us cover the cost of many aspects of our move including but not limited to, renovations in our new space, updating our new building to meet code, creating a new playground, adding sinks to classrooms, fire-life safety updates and more! Please help us continue our legacy as one of Denver's oldest cooperative preschool!
