Our mission is to safeguard kids from today’s dangerous and deceptive drugs through community education and groundbreaking policy.

As commercialization and accessibility increase, an alarming array of child-friendly products continue to evolve and become readily available.  No matter how anyone feels about legalization, we should all agree that these substances are harmful to kids.

From our founding to the present day, our end goal has remained the same: use our expertise to educate and inform parents and other trusted adults of the risks posed to kids by these substances, and be the measured truth-tellers addressing the gaps in policy, regulation, and enforcement. We remain nimble as products and potencies change at a rapid pace, including the emerging challenge of intoxicating hemp-derived products,  decriminalization of psychedelics, and the derelict regulation of kratom. 

One Chance to Grow Up is a nonpartisan nonprofit founded by concerned Colorado parents after the state legalized adult-use marijuana. Since 2013, we've become a trusted voice for kids, offering resources to parents, media, and policymakers without taking sides on legalization. We focus on the effects of THC and other drugs on children, driven by private funding and countless hours dedicated to policy work and education. Our mission is to protect kids from the harms of dangerous and deceptive drugs and help them reach their full potential.
