I've been fortunate to know about and be professionally connected to Project Safeguard (PSG) since I was in graduate school in the mid-1990s. Once I began my career in victim services several years later, I found that someone from Project Safeguard was a part of every committee, every meeting and every legislative effort I became involved in. After law school, I began volunteering with PSG's Divorce and Custody Clinics, helping survivors of gender-based violence get the court orders they needed to obtain safety for themselves and their children. Several years later, when I worked at the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center, running a program that provided representation for children whose parent was seeking a civil protection order, I worked even more closely with PSG. In 2019, I had the incredible opportunity to join the staff at PSG as the Legal Director and to hire the first staff attorney in PSG's nearly 40 year history. Four years later, I am the Executive Director, we have an Attorney Services Team of four people (that doesn't include me), and our Legal Advocacy Services, which have been the heart of PSG's work since the beginning, are stronger and more dynamic than ever. The pandemic had a devastating impact on survivors of gender-based violence and on the organizations that serve them. We are no exception. This year, we need your support more than ever. I am incredibly proud of the work that we do and the impact we make. Your donation to Project Safeguard, no matter the amount, will allow us to continue this critical and innovative work on behalf of survivors.
