Kristen's Giving Project Fundraiser

Hi there!

Thanks for showing interest in Chinook Fund's Giving Project. I joined The Giving Project because the world feels uneasy at best and I needed somewhere to channel my energy, or rather get me motivated to act. My fundraising goal is $1500 and I am personally giving $500 on top of that. What am I asking you to give your money to? I am a part of a cohort of folks in Colorado that are collectively fundraising to give out grants to grassroots organizations that focus on social and economic justice. There is a priority given to those that are engaging in community organizing and to those that have a non-hierarchical way of decision-making. Those are some of the reasons why I believe funding this particular work is important. It is long-lasting (after this administration and the next) and it promotes equality and equity. I am most inspired by a past grantee, Lamar Unidos. They provide support to immigrants in rural Colorado and I have had the pleasure of working with them in a previous job. They are a testament to the fact that the money I am raising is going to work that is grassroots and driven by those that are most impacted.
