As a single mother, AAYLC helped tremendously as it was a place of support and encouragement. The annual conference has an emphasis in developing leaders and offers a parent workshop. We were given the tools that we needed to succeed. This helped lead my daughter and I down a successful path.
My daughter attended from middle school to high school. Being involved in spaces like this she became her high schools salutatorian, student representative for the school board, and received her associates degree and high school diploma at the same time. This helped her to gain scholarships. She entered into a four year college as a junior straight from high school. She continues to take these values with her as she continues her journey through life.
I want more students to have this opportunity. I want to see more single parents have this level of support. AAYLC offers scholarships, mentorship, and resources, but they rely on donations to make this possible.
Your support will help get kids off their phones and focused on positive activities. Through workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities, AAYLC helps students develop essential leadership skills—confidence, public speaking, teamwork, and problem-solving—that will serve them throughout their lives. With your help, we can continue providing these transformative experiences.
Your support will help students have access to scholarships. We can help deserving students get a higher education despite their current economic status. Parents can have confidence in knowing that financial opportunities for education are out here to support them and their children
Your support will help provide opportunities for young leaders and help to keep a legacy alive! By supporting AAYLC, you're helping to build a pipeline of future leaders who will advocate for justice, equality, and positive change in their communities.
These young people will become the leaders of tomorrow—whether in politics, business, education, or activism—and your contribution is helping to equip them for success. By donating, you’re helping to create the next generation of African American leaders who will inspire, uplift, and help change the world. Thank you for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Angela Hall
